Caddo Parish court information is maintained by several separate offices. The Caddo Parish Clerk of Court keeps First Judicial District Court records, while city, juvenile, justice-of-the-peace, and mayor's courts maintain their own files. This private reference site helps readers identify the court, clerk, portal, or records route that fits the matter they need to research.

Why We Built This Site

Louisiana recognizes a general right to inspect public records in R.S. 44:31, subject to the limits set by law. In Caddo Parish, the practical question is often which custodian has the record. The Caddo Parish Clerk of Court, Mike Spence, is the custodian for First Judicial District Court records under Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure art. 251. A district-court docket may lead to Clerk Connect, eClerks LA and the Louisiana Clerks' Remote Access Authority, a daily criminal calendar, or a clerk copy request. A Shreveport City Court, juvenile, mayor's court, justice-of-the-peace, or federal matter follows a different route. We organize those distinctions so a reader can start with the appropriate office.

This is a privately operated reference site, not a Louisiana court, clerk's office, or government service. Its limits are important:

  • We cannot retrieve an official docket sheet or case file
  • We cannot set, change, continue, or confirm a hearing
  • We cannot seal, amend, remove, or correct a court record
  • We cannot prepare an official or certified copy of a filing, order, or docket
  • We cannot advise on a pending case, deadline, or legal right
  • We cannot guarantee that an outside office's fee, hours, phone line, or portal status has not changed

For an official or certified First Judicial District Court record, contact the Caddo Parish Clerk of Court. The court or clerk that holds the file is the only source that can authenticate it.
